Davidson Ukuleles

A wonderful surprise at a little gig near Bristol, November 2001.

There was Phil Davidson with a tiny black case, and snuggling inside, the cutest uke ever (the guitar shaped one). A ukulele was my very first instrument when I was eight or so, but this is my first proper one. Beautifully made from a Georgian Cuban mahogany table with birds-eye maple bindings from the floor boards (!) of the old Wills tobacco factory in Bristol.

I played Shipwreck On Hawaii on it at the end of the evening.

The pineapple shaped uke is made from lacewood (London plane).
